The Darrell S. Freeman Sr. Incubation and Innovation Center at Fisk University

Sydney Ernstes, Managing Director of Recruitment & Delivery, recently attended the kickoff ceremony celebrating the creation of the Darrell S. Freeman Sr. Incubation and Innovation Center at Fisk University. The Freeman Center will provide resources, services, and programming for startups and entrepreneurs to test their ideas and scale their businesses. The Center will be housed on Fisk’s campus in Burrus Hall, a building that has not been in use for over 30 years!

When BGSF purchased Zycron from Darrell Freeman in 2017, Eric Peters, President of the Professional Division, committed to supporting Darrell in this initiative and several others. We are excited to honor our commitment to Darrell, his family, and the community by following the development of this Center. Congratulations to our partners Lena Winfree and Holly Rachel with Blacks In Technology who have been driving advocates for the Fisk Initiative.

At the ceremony, Darrell’s daughters shared some words. Kenya read “The Bridge Builder,” a poem written by Will Allen Dromgoole. Sydney notes, “The poem beautifully ties together how Darrell dedicated his life to being a bridge for so many. His legacy in the Incubation and Innovation Center will continue to be a bridge for so many more.”
